The Story
Josh and Maria Fernanda both downloaded the Upward app, a Christian dating app, in late summer/early fall of 2023.
They matched and talked through the app excessively and eventually moved to having conversations via WhatsApp, spending sometimes several (sometimes 8+) hours on the phone per night.
Eventually the app wasn't enough, and they decided that it would be good to meet each other. So, they started planning the first encounter for weeks.
Josh and Maria Fernanda finally met at the end of November after Thanksgiving, had a few days of getting to know each other in person, and then they started officially dating.
In February of 2024, Josh talked to Maria Fernanda's Parents to let them know his intention and to ask for their blessing.
The rest, as they say, is history (or herstory).
